Location: Mount Sneffels, San Juan Mountains, Colorado

Mount Sneffels is in the San Juan range in southwest Colorado, which must be the most rugged area of Colorado. Some of our favorite adventures have been exploring in the San Juans, and enjoying the towns of Ouray, Ridgway, Lake City, and Telluride. I spent a long time planning the location and night when the milky way would line up above Sneffels, which must have the most identifiable profile in Colorado. Notably, we had seen a bear earlier in the day in the exact spot I was set up, so I was quite jumpy! Thankfully, I was not eaten while getting this shot.
