Location: Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado

Sky Pond is one of my two favorite hikes in all of Rocky Mountain National Park (Chasm Lake is the other). If you have time, energy, and good weather, you should absolutely make the hike up to this gorgeous alpine lake. The key feature of once you arrive are the massive and rugged spires of the Sharkstooth, Petit Grepon, and Sabre. I have actually only made the hike a few times in winter, when the frozen lake shows the incredible reflections and patterns of the rock. Sunrise at Sky Pond requires a cold and early start, but is well worth the journey.
