Location: Rocky Mountain National Park

Morder. Volcano. Cotton Candy Explosion. I’ve thought or heard many descriptions for the incredible moment we experienced on the windy morning in RMNP, but I’m not sure I’ll ever really know how to put it in words. As blistering winds slammed wispy gray clouds into Longs Peak’s face, they were forced up into the first light of sunrise, turning neon pink and orange, continuing their race east. We sat in the snow (while I furiously tried to capture it with rapidly freezing fingers) in awe.
