Location: Yosemite National Park, California

Many people are familiar with Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park as one of the best views in the lower 48, but also Tourist Central throughout the summer months. However, once the road shuts down for the winter and fills with snow, the only access is via a 20+ mile roundtrip on skis or snowshoes. The reward is virtual solitude in that is hard to believe.
