Location: Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

It is hard to take a bad photo at the Grand Canyon, but this one took perseverance and nerves…or stupidity! After three laps to the canyon edge and back under shelter due to rain and hail, the clouds and sunset light came together absolutely perfectly…just as lightning was approaching over my right shoulder. I keep clicking away until sparks starting jumping from my tripod, then got my soaking wet gear back to a safe area to avoid an electrifying experience…
