Location: Alabama Hills, Colorado

Alabama Hills is off the beaten path for most people – unless you are visiting Mount Whitney, there probably is not reason to visit this moonscape of hills and gigantic boulders. We have explored here twice, but have only scratched the surface of the playground for hikers, climbers, campers, and photographers. Milky way photography calls for dark skies, and Alabama Hills’ proximity to population only includes the small town of Lone Pine, provide incredibly dark skies on clear nights.
